Please give me your detailed reaction to the end of your story. Would you have wanted the ending to be any different? Why or why not?

  1. I was happy with the ending. i thought it was very sweet the words Landon said about Jamie, but was unfortunate that things had to end the way they did (with her death)

  3. i thought it was truly sad because usually in stories like this the story has a twist where the person lives but in this story it was the exact opposite of that and it was just so tear jerking because Jamie was such a sweet girl and didnt deserve to die.

  4. I think that the ending is the way it is supposed to be. If Jamie would have survived, the story would seem unrealistic and it would take away a lot of the emotional bond the reader has with the happenings. There was no way to let Jamie survive her disease.
The wedding was the actual happy ending. They both understood the strength of their love and agreed to prove it in front of God. They overcame all the difficulties and they handed their love and uncertain future over to a higher power. Both never had any regrets and were always satisfied with the decision they made. It was the right thing to do.

  6. No, I wouldn't want the ending to the story to be any different. I loved how it lead up to the ending of the story. My reaction was crying during the very end when Landon grew older in his 40's and remembering all of his old times with Jamie as his first true love of his life.

  7. No, i couldnt want the ending to be different beacuse it would ruin the whole ending and an ending like that gives the story more life and makes the reader realize how much Landon love Jamie. A powful love even till death.:)

  8. I did not like the end of the story at all because now Landon has nobody. It was a great story but if Jaime would of lived and had her happy ending it would of been better.

  9. I think that the ending was sad but made the story just right. I liked the fact that no matter how long you have you can still make the best of your life. It also showed that true love never dies even if the person does. Landon ended Jamie's life the way God would of wanted him to, she was happy and that's the important thing. I loved the story.

  10. Some really great answers--Laura I especially liked your insight--I think what you said about the wedding being the actual happy ending is a spot-on observation. Yay!!

  11. I think the ending was good. I think it is so sad that Jamie dies. I think it definitely makes the story better though. I think it makes the story more emotional and you become more involved with the characters. Like your actually sad that this happens because you feel like your some way involved with the characters. I think it was just a very clever dramatic way to end the book.
