Part 2 Week of 11/15-11/19
Landon eventually falls for Jamie--the one thing he swore wouldn't happen. In your opinion, what do you think it was about Jamie that made Landon fall in love with her? Can you think of another example where an unexpected love came about between two people? Think of examples from your own life, movies, TV, or books you have read. Please explain your example fully.

her personality. well sometimes its love at first sight but in this case it was love at there glance (in other words) he got to know her and found that he really loved her and wanted to really be with her.
ReplyDeleteI think that Landon slowly discovers that Jamie's differentness is not bad or crazy, but it is actually something special in a wonderful way.
ReplyDeleteJamie found her own way in life and she is strong enough not to care about what other people might think. That impresses Landon.
He also learns more about her and he is surprised about what he finds out.
Jamie is very special and the moment when Landon learns to value that is the moment when he falls in love with her.
There are several examples of unexpected love described in books and movies. The most popular one is probably "Romeo and Juliet". Two youths suddenly fall in love with each other, even though the families of those hate each other. No one ever thought that a member of the first family could meet a member of the second family without starting a fight. It was an impossible thought for every citizen of Verona. But when Romeo and Julia met, both dissociated from the eternal conflict between the families and therefore not blind for the truth of the actual character of a person, they fall in love with each other, because they had a chance to discover the "real character" in the other person.
Their love also arose based on the learning about the other person and not to judge him/her because of his/her appearance.
I think that Landon fell for Jamie because under all the weird cloths and the bible always with her she had a sweet side and she knew how to blow him away and he new that she was the one he wanted to be with.
ReplyDeleteWell I would have to say in the movie The Notebook by the same author the two in that movie you would have never thought would fall in love because she was getting married but in the end thay fell in love and it was a big surpise!
landon fell in love with jamie by the way she is. she hasnt change and she was herself. the more time that landon spent with her he realized that she was different and not like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteLandon falls in love with Jamie because of her kindness. Shes a really nice girl, maybe shes not the prettiest girl in schoool, or the richest, but shes down to earth and real. Landon realizes shes the one he wants because they can relate in someways.
ReplyDeleteI guess a movie that can realate to this story is 'Dear John' because they fell in love in a short amount of time.
I think landon falls in love with jamie because of her spritual sprit and innocent which he nevers has seen or felt before.
ReplyDeleteAn unexpected love would be twilight because its about a vampire and a human falling in love despite they are from two diffenert worlds.
in my opinion it was her innocence and the fact that their chemistry was perfect. plus Nicholas Sparks made the book this way. :]
ReplyDeleteI think her caringness, and willing to prove herself. Landon came to her not knowing things in life and she taught him those things, which made him fall in love with her for being such a wise and strong person.

I think the reason Landon falls for Jamie is because she basically plays hard to get in a way and shows him that she doesn't care and cares at the same time. She makes him think, she shows him what it's like to have heart and be true to yourself. In the movie "The Girl Next Door," the girl falls for a nerd that has a boring life rather then someone from her crowd of people. She fell for him because he showed her what love is really about just like Jamie did Landon.
ReplyDeleteI think Landon fell in love with Jamie because she is a genually nice person and tries to see the best in everything around her. At the beginning of the story he thinks she is weird because of this and the thinks she is way too much into the bible. Later he finds out it is because she is sick and is dying. I think he fell in love with her beccause she always tried to make the best out of every situation that she was in. I think an example of this is the movie Persuit of Happiness because Jamie always tries to make every situation better before she passes away.
ReplyDeleteI think Landon fell for Jamie because she's genuine, optimistic, caring, and mainly different. Jamie stands out more than any other character in the book. I think Landon fell for her because of how much she wasn't like anybody else he'd ever met.
ReplyDeleteAnother movie where there was an unexpected love was in The Notebook. You wouldnt have expected it because she was a rich girl and the boy was poor and they lived completely different lifestyles.
